The British Invasion at Pinehurst

BRITISH INVASION At Pinehurst Village
BIG NEWS!
I spent this morning assisting Tom Cotter replace his newly rebuilt motor into his MG Midget racecar that has been sold back to its original owner in California. Also assisting was Brian Barr who is the competition manager for the upcoming Second Annual Pinehurst Concours and he informed me that they are just about to announce that on Saturday, May 3rd (the day before the actual concours on the famous Pinehurst Golf Course) they will be having a “British Invasion” in the historic village of Pinehurst for up to 400 British classic cars.

The quaint village will be entirely British as the streets will be restricted to only British cars. There is no entry fee, no judging or awards, but plenty of fun is planned with a Beatles Tribute Band – Kelp – plus a James Bond Martini Crawl (there will be a charge) around the pubs located in the inns, hotels, taverns and bars in the village. They are still finalizing the details, but they have the John Lennon’s psychedelic Bentley and they are working at getting the “Goldfinger” Aston Martin. There may well be some other activities and I’ll try to keep everyone posted on developments, but every British car club in the Carolinas needs to put this event on their calendars.
