Fall Lake Tour 2016

Can you smell that?  The smell of a wood fire in the fire pit, smoke hanging in the trees, the smell of a pig slow cooking over charcoal, and neighbors waking up wondering why they are hungry.  Well that is just part of what you are going to experience on the Fall Lake Tour.  You will also have a beautiful drive on back roads to Lake Gaston, NC with people all along the route coming out to get a closer look at the MGs as they go by.  It is one of the best day trips the Club has all year and may be the last chance to drive your MG before winter.  Join us September 24 – and check you latest Quadriga for details!

Fall Lake Tour

Okay, I know that by the time you read this, you will just have had some of the best hog ever at the 25th celebration. AND, that you are now addicted to smoked pork and want more. Well you are in luck, the Lake Tour, hosted again this year by Myron & Nancy Grueneich is Sept. 21, and you guessed it, pig on the grill. Now, if that doesn’t get you, how about some of the best ever baked beans, homemade potato salad, home- made cold slaw, and the clincher, homemade ice cream! It is always a fun ride, on some really great back roads, through some small towns with people stopping to watch the LBC go by. The view of the lake is beautiful, there will be a fire in the fire pit, marshmallows to roast, the smell of pig on the grill, and lots of good friends to chat with. Some of our Northern members only get to visit and meet the other club members at this event.
It does not take long, and you will be on lake time and never want to leave. So come join us for a lot of fun. Please bring a folding chair, and beverage of your choice, everything else will be provided.
The tour will start at Ron & Pat Wharton’s house after breakfast hosted by the Whartons. The group will leave at 9:00 am. Please let Ron & Pat know your plans to caravan to the lake.
